Gift Policy - The Engineering Library at Cornell University welcomes donations of books, journals, videos and CDs which support the instructional and research needs of students and faculty and enhance the strength of the collection of the Engineering Library. If you are interested in making a donation or a gift, please contact John M. Saylor, Collection Development, email jms1@cornell.edu or telephone (607) 255-4134.
- We request that you send us a list of the items you wish to donate: for example, for books-- author, title and date, and for journals-- title, volumes, and years. This will enable us to determine the usefulness of these items for our collection.
- Appraisal for tax purposes is the responsibility of the donor. All gifts over $5000 must be appraised by a qualified appraiser in order to claim a tax deduction. Gifts are accepted with the understanding that they become the property of Cornell University Library, and that the Library may then make all necessary decisions as to their retention, discard, sale or exchange. See the Cornell University Library Gift Policy.
