The Beilstein Handbook of Organic Chemistry and the Gmelin Handbook of Inorganic Chemistry are available electronically through the Crossfire Commander search interface.  The Beilstein database contains the literature of organic chemistry from 1779 to date; the Gmelin database contains that of inorganic and organometallic chemistry from 1817 to date; the databases are updated 4 times a year.  CrossFire Commander requires downloading and is not available from off-campus except through EZ-Remote.
