Connection Settings Change January 2008
Our new CrossFire Commander license requires that we connect to the CrossFire Direct Server. These instructions describe how to change your settings.
Windows Instructions
- Open the CrossFire Commander software.
- Go to Options and select Define Server Profiles.
- Choose Edit to modify the Default profile.
- Under the Server tab enter the new Host name, crossfire-acad.elsevier.com. The "Forget user id/password for the server" box will be checked when you do this. Click OK. (The group and user names are still cornell.)
- Highlight "Default.prf" and click Select to activate the profile. If you were connected, you may be logged off the server.
- Quit the program and launch it again. When prompted, enter the new password, m4rfdk. Click on "Save user id and password".
- Click OK to log on.
Mac Instructions
- Open the CrossFire Commander software.
- Go to Options and select Connections. You'll see "Connecting to the MDL CrossFire Server". Click OK.
- Click Edit to modify the profile.
- Under the Server tab enter the new Host name, crossfire-acad.elsevier.com. The "Forget user id/password for the server" box will be checked when you do this. Click OK. (The group and user names are still cornell.)
- You'll see "Connecting to the MDL CrossFire Server". Click OK. Then click Close, to get out of the profile selection window.
- Click the two red arrows to launch the program. You'll see "Connecting to the MDL CrossFire Server". Click OK.
- When prompted, enter the new password, m4rfdk. Save the user id and password so that you will not be prompted again. Click OK to log on.
